Seabrook explosion frightened the people. On Wednesday morning, people came out of their homes when they heard a strange thunder of a fire ball that reached the sky with a buzzing sound as if a fighter jet has passed by the residential area. The thundering sound was so intense that it shook the not only the hearts of the people but also jolted the houses as if an earth quake has impacted. The explosion caused damage to the walls and windows of the homes. The sound was the consequence of an explosion which occurred at American’s Acryl’s Port Road plant at Seabrook.
Despite the terrorizing explosion at the $150 million plant which had been closed for some repair works, the “revealed figure” of the effected seems quite humble. According to reports only handful of workers were their on the facility at the time when explosion took place and only two of them received minor injuries. They were hospitalized and discharged very soon.
The plant GM, Joe Goins, told that the blast did not have any detrimental affect on the residential community living near the facility. He told that he was happy because every body was safe and sound. The general manager of the plant told that the facility produces acrylic acid which is used in a variety of products. The blast occurred in the toluene plant which extracts toluene to be used in the manufacturing process of acrylic acid. A team of investigators has been sent to the facility to probe the cause of explosion.
