Tuesday, June 15 on the CBS TV Network’s 48 HOURS MYSTERY: “Kidnapped: Shawn Hornbeck’s Incredible Story” was presented. It was 6 October 2002 on Sunday around 1:00 P.M. afternoon, when a sexual predator kidnapped “Shawn Hornbeak” at the age of 11.
On the Sunday afternoon Shawn Hornbeak was bored and want to ride on his bike to his friends house, his parents allowed him and told him to be back by 5:00 P.M. for the dinner but he never made to his friends home. Shawn Hornbeck experienced terrible abuse by the hands of his kidnapper “Michael Devlin” over the course of next 4 ½, until FBI agents rescued him in January 2007.
Shawn Hornbeak told the inside story of his abduction to “48 Hours Mystery” correspondent Tory Roberts, he said no one knows the actual story except him, he said there was not a single day when he didn’t think that Michael Devlin “his abductor” is going to kill him. Moreover, he said that he was better off dead rather than living through this.
Shawn Hornbeck explains what he suffered throughout the years that he was missing, for the moment Michael Devlin knocked him off his bike to the instant he was rescued. A painful, horrific and sad story of an 11-year-old boy who did not deserve to suffer that much pain and fear, but according to Devlin, “described by Shawn Hornbeck” “He was in the wrong place at the wrong time”.
