Days are celebrated for some reasons and there always exist a purpose behind any celebration. Like National day, Health Day, women’s Day, Labor Day, valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, National Writing Day and many other days to celebrate with an objective. But to celebrate a day has become so much trendy and traditional that people are going to celebrate days without any purpose and motivation. Senior skip day is the example of this trend of celebrating days with no objective.
Senior Skip Day is a tradition in some high schools of US and Canada. The entire senior class of the school will justify or excuse themselves from school on a pre-set day. Most US school districts usually do not allow for the skip day but any sentence or punishment does not occur for absence. However, some schools enforce executive action on those students who have partaken in a skip day.
Though the number of absent students is increasing year after year however, it is practically impossible that an entire senior class show absence from the school on that specific day because many students participate in different spring activities and sports and it is a rule for all high schools across the nation, if a student does not appear to attend the school, that student is not allowed to participate in any school activity.
A film is also made on the topic of school skip. This is a comedy film “Senior Skip Day 2008″ about the traditions of high school seniors and teenage frolics; this is one of many comic movies that air once in a month. It has all the elements necessary for a teenager’s comedy and tradition of skipping school is forbidden in an oblique way.
