Sports newspapers are making headlines about the three times U.S. Open Champion Serena Williams on her foot fault and her tirade in the match. According to the reports, Serena Williams was twice called for making foot fault upon her served during the semi final match of U.S. Open Women championship. Serena Williams was playing this match against Kim Clijsters. Clijsters who appeared in her third match after her 27-month retirement and won the match based upon penalty deduction of Serena Williams. The reports we have received revealed that Serena Williams, who usually remains calm during her matches, was seen remarking at the lineswoman when she was called for the second time on her foot fault. Serena was quite angry at the rather more harsh call and remarked at the lineswoman by pointing her racquet towards her. Lineswoman called the umpire and hence after a mutual discussion Serena was given a second code violation which resulted in point penalty. With this point penalty, Serena lost her chance at the U.S. Open as the match was won by Kim Clijsters. Serena was given a first code violation at the end of first set when she threw her racquet on the ground in frustration. Serena, who has won U.S. Open three times, was defending her title in this championship. Kim Clijsters will now have match with Caroline Wozniacki of Denamrk.
In a press conference held after the match, Serena Williams denied that she made foot fault saying she had never made a foot fault in whole year.
