Halloween is around the corner and the autumn season is bringing so many pumpkin festivals along with it. Pumpkin festivals are always so much fun for both the young and the young-at-the-hearts. Talking about pumpkin festivals, the latest is from Seymour where Seymour’s 44th Annual Pumpkin Festival held this Sunday. As expected, the festival was visited by more than 20, 000 visitors.
Seymour Pumpkin Festival held in the French Memorial Park. According to the reports, the festival hosted all previous vendors and 40 additional one who were new to the festival. The festival hosted 125 different stalls which offered a huge variety to the vistors. The French Memorial Park was divided in three different Halloween themes namely Cinderella Lane, Goblin’s Gulch, and the Pumpkin Patch. The vendors were asked to decorate their stalls accordingly.
The festival started at 10 am when six students from a school were crowned for Royal Court. These children will represent the festival in the community through out the year.
There were two breakfast stall which offered Egg sandwiches and coffee in the morning to the visitors. Other food stalls offered French Fries, hotdogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, hotdogs, apple and pumpkin pie, ice cream, strawberry shortcake, hamburgers, fresh fruit salads, and more.
For kids there were fun-filled activities like rides, face painting, coloring contests, and painting competitions. Seymour Pumpkin Festival raises $8000 to $9000 every year. The profit is used to give scholarship to Seymour College graduates, the local fire department, and other charitable programs in the local community.
