The Winter Olympics are a dream event for every sports lover. The event is hosted by Vancouver this year. The games are receiving huge response from all around the globe. People have spent millions of dollars to purchase tickets to their favorite games. The fans come to cheer their favorite players. The speed skating long-track is a popular sport. It requires good skating skills and strong muscles. The participants race with each other to make it up to the finishing line in the shortest time.
Last night in the speed skating long-track event the African-American athlete was on top. Shani Davis got the gold medal in the thousand meters event. His performance showed his pure athleticism. He won just by a time difference of less than a quarter of a second.
Shani Davis practices for hours and hours, even though he is from United States of America he did not join the US team, as he likes to stay alone. He won the Gold last time four years back and has done it again this time. He celebrated in the stadium after his win without taking notice that the crowd is not cheering for him anymore as everyone was in a rush to go home. He stated that he had a different strategy in mind for this time, as last time he was just skating to win but this time he wanted to win for maintaining his record. Shani Davis started skating when he was a kid. HE wanted to skate so that he can become the fastest skater. His practice and devotion has earned him another gold medal.
