Sheryl Yoast

Sheryl Yoast is a character from 2000 movie, remember the Titans. The film is loosely based on Williams High School football state champions of 1971. The main characters were performed by Denzel Washington, Will Patton and Hayden Panettiere. Sheryl Yoast’s character was performed by Hayden Panettiere. Sheryl Yoast was the daughter of the coach Brian Yoast.

Sheryl Yoast was a wonderful person. Unlike the story of the film, she was a devoted fan of Titans and enjoyed football to the every bit of it and had in depth knowledge of the game and the players. She performed as a cheerleader for four years and became Homecoming queen. She had a strong bond with her father Yoast and was indeed disappointed at Yoast being not chosen as head coach and was very vocal about it. Apart from football she loved spending time with her mother and two sisters. Born on February 5, 1962 in Virginia she attended local schools before graduating from Virgina Tech in 1984.

After doing a temporary job she got married and started helping her husband in his business. The couple had a son and a daughter.

After a short stay in the hospital she died of a Cardiac disease on May 4, 1996. She was 34 at the time of her death

Hayden Panettiere was awarded “Young Artist Award” for her portrayal of Sheryl Yoast.
