Witnesses said a covered gunmen opened fire in a mosque slaughtering six foreigners, identified as Pakistani Muslim preachers, the incident happened in Somalia’s semi-independent region known as Puntland, two other people were wounded during the attack, witness said the foreigners are from Pakistan and were dressed like preachers.
Witness and resident of Galkayo, where the incident happened told the news agency that Punland forces have reached the mosque to carry away the dead bodies, the foreigners as many as 25 in numbers have arrived yesterday from Pakistan.
According to news agency Somalia is a paradise for rebel’s and insurgents, who most of the time intrigue attacks in the region, Puntland is the foundation ground for pirates, who target the Gulf of Aden and beyond, but has been more nonviolent than the south of the unsuccessful Horn of Africa state, moreover the agency said that now Puntland forces have secured and enclosed the area around the mosque to protect the rest of the foreigner Muslim preachers.
Somalia have been facing civil war since 1991 and the President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and his government controls a very small portion of capital Mogadishu, the forces have been fighting with hard-line Islamic rebels in south and central regains, including a group known as Al-Shabab, U.S indicted this group as the proxy of Al-Queda in Somalia, but after this attack in the Puntland’s mosque on Muslim Preachers group it looks like the other way around.
