The sport of snorkeling is a very common one amongst those who like to see fish in their natural habitat though some people like to go underwater to view the amazing colors and structures of coral reefs. Snorkeling involves wearing goggles and a tube shaped pipe that allows the diver to breathe underwater, the activity is also popular for its use in discovering underwater wreckages of ships that might have sunk decades ago.
Treasure hunters snorkel in sites where old cargo carrying ships went missing after doing a significant amount of research on the contents of the vessel and the location where the ships were wrecked. Otherwise snorkeling is just an activity that tourists and fish enthusiasts do for it allows them to be up close and personal with the habitat of rare and extraordinary fish.
Divers who go snorkeling can either wear an inflatable life jacket though its not recommended for those who would prefer freedom in the depth that they want to dive to as a life vest prevents the diver from going below a certain depth. Apart from a life jacket a diver wears a wet suit, the thickness of which they can adjust according to what depth they want to dive to. The thickness of the wet suit is directly proportional to the buoyancy it provides with thicker wet suits for greater buoyancy. Snorkeling holds its dangers as well as it might cause sun burn if the diver spends an extended amount of time underwater without the proper gear or covering. Divers usually snorkel in relatively warm waters where there isn’t much turbulence and there are interesting things to see under the surface of the water.
