The snows of Kilimanjaro is a lesson in fact the real nature of the human being within the story that the human machine starts remembering the time and start realizing the years teach much which the days never know.

In this short story the writer Hemingway get himself wounded in a hunting accident during a safari in Africa. The wound gets infection and no one was around for help. The writer closed himself in a nutshell and starts waiting for the day of the death. During his wait for the death, he starts thinking about his previous life and after a comprehensive analysis he concluded that he got nothing in his life and in his profession of writing. He thought about the wonderful experiences and astonishing life events and admits that he got lot of experience in life and he saw lot of wonderful things in the world at the same time he realized that nothing is documented. He had no record whatsoever for the events and so naturally being a writer he contradicts with his reluctance of writing. He also thought about his relationship with his wife. He blamed her for the living decadently and forgetting the worth writing which actually matters for him.
He forgets writing about his experience among poor and interesting people. He died with no regrets for the future. The days teach much which the years never know. He saw a dream in which a plan carries him to the top of mountain Kilimanjaro.
A movie in 1952 was also made on this name Snows of Kilimanjaro, the movie was directed by Henry King, the movie was much appreciated by the viewers, even now the user have rated this movie on IMDB as 6.3/10.
