Social Strata has introduced a unique policy for its “full time employees” that anyone of them can take paid leave of unlimited duration. The CEO of Social Strata “Rosemary O’Niel” said that she is inspired by the thoughts of “Jim Collins” author of the “Good to Great and Built to Last”. Collins propagates development of a “culture of self disciplined people who take disciplined actions” for sustaining “great results. Collins is for self discipline as the strict rules and regulations sometimes force the dedicated staff to quit and might gather “wrong people”.
The new scheme of course has its good and bad points the good point is that staff can deny overwork exhaustion and bad point is that non-committed employees can take undue advantage of the scheme.
Social Strata’s new leave program may prove to be a success if the employees are honest and committed with a high sense of responsibility. On the other hand it might shatter down if the employees mould it for their own selfish motives.
The self disciplinary plans usually work well with small organizations and specially the ones where the employees have some stakes like shares in the company. O’Niel the CEO of the company is hopeful that the “disciplined” staff will make out most of this scheme as they will be a fresh with after a paid break and work with full dedication.
Well it seems that Social Strata has announced this new scheme to test the discipline level of its employees. The private enterprises will be following up the out come of this unique leave plan.
