For the second time in less than a month, a 17-years-old student (Sonya Raymakers ,a senior at Gunn High School) was killed by a train on Tuesday night at 9:55 at an intersection at East Meadow Drive crossing in Palo Alto. She was supposed to graduate on June 10 this month. Another student named JP Blanchard of same age, from the same school died at the same location on 5th May.
Scott Laurence who is an Assistant Superintendent at Palo Alto Unified School District said that the school management and the students are very much shocked. It is a bad day; more over he said that the two deaths are not linked. Whereas Christine Dunn a spokeswoman for Caltrain remarked that the incident appeared to be intentional, but law enforcement officers did not ruled Sonya Raymaker’s death as suicide.
