The Phil Spector trial judgment was declared in court today, interpretation a mistrial. As the jury could not collectively agree on a decision, the result is the indistinct and misty region of mistrial. Phil Spector was charged with murdering and struggling actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.The actress was killed by a gunshot wound to the mouth. According to an article in the New York Times, Ms. Lana Clarkson, “was found dead from a gunshot injury to her mouth in the hallway of Mr. Spector’s house in a Los Angeles community.” The article also said that the jury primarily came to a 7-5 decision, before they were sent back by the judge to re-evaluate their decision. The second decision was a 10-2, which ended as a mistrial. The jury was anticipated to find Spector guilty by earlier interpretation.
Spector had long gone from the music industry long before the jury’s final decision. Since the 1970s Spetor had not completed an album. But Spector does produce some of the greatest recordings of the 20th century. Journalist “Mick Brown” taped the isolated producer’s first interview in a long time shortly before the shooting that led to Spector’s arrest.
Spector’s elder sister was institutionalized, and his father committed suicide when he was only 9 years old. Madness and uncertainty troubled Spector’s entire life. Spector’s first hit was “To Know Him Is to Love Him.” He was inspired by the writing on his father’s grave. Spector was 18 years old at that time.
Lana Clarkson was found dead in Spector’s home and Police found blood on Spector shirt. The prosecution hypothesize that Spector had picked up the actress, and somehow shot her in a drunken argument. The defense claimed that the actress shot herself, and that Spector must have been too far away to have pulled the trigger. The 67-year old Spector has not produced a hit song in decades, his last big hit occurred in the 1960′s and ’70′s. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has plans to try the case once more.
