Massachusetts is hit by snow and rain and school districts have been closed in many regions. Springfield Public Schools of Springfield, MA, however, have not been closed, according to the school’s website.
According to the details, the Massachusetts State is covered with clouds and frozen precipitation. The Wednesday morning the Massachusetts state residents saw a mixture of rain and snow. The frozen precipitation and rain made the roads slick and slippery. Weather agencies have forecasted that maximum snowfall will be seen in the northern and the western regions of the Interstate 495 and have predicted 4-5 inches of snow accumulation on roads. The snow accumulation will cripple the transportation systems and in many regions of the state less traffic has been observed. The state transportation department has told that traffic moved at a rate of 10 mph on highways like Interstate 290. Weather agencies have forecasted that the western regions of Boston will receive as much as 8 inches of snow.
Power outages have also been reported in some regions. Due to poor road conditions, many schools in Worcester and Central Massachusetts have been closed. Springfield Public Schools of Springfield, MA have not been closed. The website of the schools has uploaded the monthly calendar according to which the school will remain closed during Christmas holidays only.
