Stanley Alpert was kidnapped on gun point in chilly January 21 night of 1998. Stanley Alpert lived to tell his story. The federal prosecutor was coming home from a blind date that did not work. Stanley was walking towards the corner of 10th Street at Fifth Avenue in lower Manhattan.
Stanley Alpert’s kidnappers shoved him into a Lexus at gunpoint with aim to let him to an auto teller to withdraw his money. Stanley Alpert was taken to a cash machine at 23rd Street- Sixth Avenue. The kidnappers asked for the sum of money in his account and were amazed to know that Stanley Alpert had around $110,000 in his bank account.
Kidnappers took him to their place and there they offered him to have oral sex with one of the girls and they do engage themselves with sexual act while Stanley Alpert is blindfolded and he just felt that sexual acts are going on around him.
Many people including the FBI agents did not believe the story told by Stanley Alpert. They even ridiculed him for not coming up with some better sort of story.
However as Stanley told when his captors come to know his social status they changed their plan and let him go in the morning for keeping him almost 24 hours under captivity.
Stanley later managed to lead the federal agents to his kidnappers. The guys later pleaded guilty of kidnapping Stanley Alpert.
CBS TV Series, “48 Hours” documentary on Stanley Alpert’s escape is named “Live To Tell”. Stanley has commented that he prized life after that incident.
Stanley Alpert has written a book on this life threatening drama by the name Birth Day Party. The book might get Stanley Alpert to add some figures to his hefty bank account. Stanley Alpert must pay back those 20 bucks; his captors gave him to hire a taxi home.
