“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years”
Steve Prefontaine, an American athlete, short and long distance runner, who never learned to lose a race but he lost the race of life at the time when he was supposed to won. Steve was popular as the most favorite and successful runner in his time and he will be remembered as one of the greatest runner of all times.
He was born on 25th January 1951 and he winded it up on 30th May 1975. He stayed on this earth for around 24 years but he lived his life with the height of fame and fun within these 24 years. It was the last day for him as he proceeds to his home after dropping his friend at his place; they were coming back from a party where they drank beer in quantity. He was passing though a road, when he saw a car little late due to darkness and he tried to got rid of a collusion. He eventually failed to do so and bang. He died on the spot in that accident. It wasn’t a case of drunken man, it was just the dark day where he first time lost the race of his life.
Steve was known around as PRE, he never entered a race to be a runner-up, anything less than a Gold medal was never the criteria of the race for him.
I think the nature had the other plans about the great runner. He did the most in his short life and he done the job for what he was sent. His name will always glow as Golden words in the history of athletes.
