The silicon valley figure and a philanthropist, Steve Wozniak, has great contribution towards computer industry. He was one of the founders of Apple products and he improved Macintosh as well. He was the winner of 1985 National Medal of Technology.
The award is an acknowledgment on the national level and is given by the president of the United States Of America in respect of top inventors and innovators. He was given the membership of Inventors Hall of Fame in 2000. Heinz Award for Technology was another feather in his cap.
Steve Wozniak designed the first personal computer and diverted his craze for mathematics and electronics towards inspiring and revolutionizing graduate students as well as faculty. In this context of imparting his experience and knowledge towards students and teachers, Wozniak focused on Los Gatos School District and delivered his precious lectures there as well as gave financial assistance to the School in order to introduce hi-tech equipment.
Wozniak is now the member of the board of directors of Jacent which provides communication solutions like telephony. He also the member of board of directors of Danger which produces wireless internet. He is also selected as the Chief Scientist at Fusion. Quite recently, he took a role on Dancing With The Star. He is a strong advocate of nurturing creativity of young students. He advises young and talented students to be creative and abandon conventional thinking and drugs because both these menaces make them handicap and dependent. He was married in 1987 and has three children.
