Finally, Stork Craft recall the drop side cribs that caused four infant’s death. Stork Craft manufacturers of cribs and the “CPS” commission of British Columbia have announced to stop the usage of Stork Craft cribs for the infants. Stork Craft cribs were distributed and sold all over America and Canada. US officials and the Stork Craft manufactures declared to recall the 2.1 million drop side cribs from all parts of America and Canada.
The record showed that 0.968 million drop side cribs were distributed in Canada and 1.2 million were distributed in United States of America. The Consumer Product Safety commission has also revealed that 147,000 cribs out of the total recalled cribs have the logo of Fisher Price tagged on.
The Consumer Safety Commission has instructed the parents and caregivers to stop the usage of Stork Craft cribs with immediate effects. They are advised by the commission that they must not try to repair the Cribs by their own and wait for the repair kit. The consumers of Stork Craft drop side cribs must also contact to get a free repair kit to make the drop side crib a fixed side crib.
The Consumer Safety Commission has said that the drop side plastic hardware can break, lose parts or can d shape as well, that can create a gap between the corners. The gap can trap the kid’s body and can be harmful.
Well, the Drop side crib by Stork Craft has created 43 incidents in Canada and 67 in United States with 15 cases of trapped infant’s bodies in the gap created by the plastic hardware of the cribs and 20 cases of falling babies from the cribs.
