The Strange Hostel of Naked Pleasures with a Brazilian name is: Estranha Hospedaria dos Prazeres as it is a Brazilians movie which was filmed in 1976. Jose Marins is the writer of the film. Coffin Joe is the lead character of the film. The movie does not offer complex audio-visual effects but the sound clips develop the feelings of horror due to its novel sound effects. The movie takes a bizarre start in its first scene when a dead man comes out of the coffin. Another scene displays an inn called “Hospedaria dos Prazeres” (hostel of pleasures).
The plot of the movie revolves around the midnight activities of guests at the hostel. The owner of the hostel asks his workers to give service to people who come to stay at the hostel after escaping the storm. As the time passes, more and more people come to stay in the hostel. The owner accommodates as much guests as he could and the others are refused. A rich man, who gets angry on the owner’s refusal to accommodate him, threatens him to bring police.
The admitted lot comprised twelve people including drunken and licentious motorcyclists, a man with a prostitute, a person intending to commit suicide, a couple in-love, and a gang of dacoits and some businessman who had a plan to ruin his rival businessman monetarily. At night all people get involved in various activities and fall asleep. When they wake up in the morning they notice that their watches have stopped. Everybody has the same stopped time and they all complain this ask the owner what has happened to the time. While making this complaint, their outlook is shown as of dead bodies. The owner tells them they all died last night at a time when their watches stopped. On the other hand when the ‘refused’ rich man comes back with the police he finds a graveyard there.
The last scenes add more horror when the owner is shown as a skull with the same hat he had been wearing in previous scenes and this is where the movie ends.
