A woman named “Diane Schuler”, who had an accident on 26th of July, was found drunk. Accident took place on Taconic Highway when she was going on wrong way in the minivan along with five children with her. Total 8 people were died in this incident together with all her 3 nieces and her daughter but luckily her 5-year-old son survived. According to the investigators, the woman was drunk as they found broken “Absolute Vodka” bottle in vehicle. They also found about ten ounces of Vodka in her stomach.
All children who died in this accident were under the age of ten. The family of Diane Schuler is not cooperating with police; in fact they were unwilling to do so and also uncaring to the questioning as stated in the reports. Although driving with drinking is bad but if you are drinking while driving and also going on the wrong way then it would easily be caused such terrible accident.
According to the police, she was 36-year-old and drank as much as there is still alcohol in her tummy. From the Toxicology Tests, it is not yet clear that what actually Diane Schuler drank but “Absolute Vodka” bottle (jumbo 1.75 liters) was found from her “Ford Windstar Minivan”.
“We got very devastating news today,” Michael Bastardi Jr. said.
Cops said that there is 0.19 per cent Schuler’s blood-alcohol level measured in her body which is over double the authorized limits.
“She would have had difficulty with her perception, with her judgment and her memory,” said Betsy Spratt (a Westchester County toxicology examiner).
