A woman was driving a minivan in the wrong direction along with 4 children on a freeway. Her this mistake caused an accident that put the 8 people to death. The accident occurred on Sunday in suburban New York. According to the State police Investigator “Joseph Becerra”, the minivan was going on the “Taconic State Parkway” in Westchester County (North of New York City). The drivers in other Vehicles forced to keep away from the minivan, which was Northbound in Southbound Lanes.
Before bursting into the flames, the minivan hit a car and a sport-utility vehicle. 36 years old woman was driving the minivan, her 3 nieces and a daughter died on the spot as described by Joseph Becerra. The New York Times reported online that she had also a five years of son with her who is in serious condition. There were 3 people in the sport-utility vehicle, who all died including a son and father; While 2 people were in the third car, who suffered minor injuries.
The ages of 4 children (all girls) who died in the accident were 2, 5, 7 and 9. The 5th child was a 5 years old boy, who was admitted to the Hospital. The fire Chief “Joe LaGrippo” from Hawthorne was the first person amongst the emergency responders who reached at the spot in a tiny village of Briarcliff Manor (35 miles northwest of New York City). The boy suffered prominent Head Trauma said by Joe LaGrippo.
