An earthquake as strong as magnitude of 6.4 has hit Taiwan at 9.03 pm, local time. It has been reported that Taiwan has absorbed an earthquake with 6.4 of magnitude and the centre of the Taiwan earthquake has been pointed as 145 kilometer in the south of Taipei.
According to the Taiwan central weather bureau, the Taiwan earthquake has stuck in the evening with more then five aftershocks of around 4.2 of magnitude in an hour time. It has been reported that tremor was observed on the Richter scale with a maximum magnitude of 6.8 and few aftershocks as well.
The impact of the Taiwan earthquake wasn’t damaging as no causalities has been reported, no major building collapses recorded, but the news are yet to be revealed from around the area where earthquake actually stuck. Reports also suggest that few breakdowns have been seen like the city subway system of Taipei and highest speed rail line of Taiwan were held for some time. Few phone companies also reporting short interruptions and hurdles but nothing serious.
Taiwan has been a regular victim of the earthquake for last many years. Taiwan regular earthquake hasn’t caused any unbearable damages yet, but either damaging or not, it is quite a scary activity. It was in 1999 on 21st September, when earthquake was strong enough to damage Taiwan badly. The earthquake hit with 7.4- magnitude and caused heavy damages. The building collapsed, heaving breakdown and caused more then 2000 causalities and a cost of around $9 million damages other then the precious and costless lives of thousands of people.
