Liz Sodden faced a saddening car accident in which Liz broke her back and doctors revealed that she would never walk again. She was very ambitious about her career and had many expectations from life but all had dismantled due to this irony of fate. She was working as a driver but she was very ambitious to join police. Now everything was changed. Disability changes everything but it cannot curb the in-born desires and instincts. She was very fond of roaming around and going for out-door activities.
The accident had deprived her of her favorite outdoor activities and she used to burst in to tears due to her disability. She is the mother of 5 kids. The seven-member family had gone for camping in the woods when a herd of deer arrived in the woods. The kids suddenly rushed towards the herd and Liz wanted so as well. As soon as kids followed the herd, the herd ran ahead and all decided to follow them but soon they realized that Liz cannot join them in their “hot pursuit”.
One way or the other, they tried their best to go together by helping Liz’s power chair through dense trees in the woods but all in vain and the herd vanished. The incident made Brad realized, “”I wanted her to have no obstacles”. He felt shattered from inside on this incident and thought that disability should not mean disqualification from enjoyment. He is a plumber and a fire man and manufactured a power chair which could go anywhere just like a tank because the similar “tank technology” was used in the chair and any hard track could become an impediment in her way.
The chair is called as “Tank chair” and can pass through snow, mud, upstairs, and downstairs. Brad took two years to manufacture the tank chair and when all the bugs were removed, the trial proved successful. Now she can go anywhere in any type of area using this chair. Liz hiked for the very first time since the accident and now she has a big smile full of gratitude on her face when she felt new spirit and joy overwhelming her disability.
