Food and Drug Administration has approved a blood pressure drug made by Novartis Company. The announcement was made by the Novartis Company that it is a new version of its earlier approved medications “Tekturna”. The latest medicine “Tekturna HCT” mixes Tekturna along with hydrochlororthiazide (a diuretic). According to Novartis, in combining the 2 medicines is treated on 2 diverse fronts.
The company also stated in its web site that Aliskeren and Tekturna works on decreasing blood pressure via maintaining blood vessels open. The Diuretic helps to reduce surplus of water and sodium from the body that works to lower blood pressure as well. Novartis has sustained a fashion amongst Pharmaceuticals to mix 2 common drugs which have previously been approved by Food and Drug Administration.
As Alexis Borisy (who has been advertized as the industry “Matchmaker”) told to the “New York Times” that it is better business to revamping of medicine which already approved as compared to making one from scratch. Moreover, Tekturna met all the Safety Standards of Food and Drug Administration more quickly because the medicines used have previously undergone clinical trials which highlight their safety. Definitely, mixing drugs in this way is a gainful move which will eventually help the patient.
