One of India’s favorite batsmen gave the nation another reason to love him as he scored a whopping two hundred runs in a match against South Africa. The match was held at the Roop Singh Stadium and as the second match of the series. Thanks to Tendulkar 200 the Indian team scored an astonishing four hundred and one runs against the all time favorite team of South Africa. The score was reached for just a total of three wickets which left the Indian spectators in a daze of awe.
Tendulkar 200 was reached at an extremely good strike rate when he scored his two hundredth run on a hundred and forty-seven balls. In Tendulkar 200, half of the score which equates to a hundred runs was scored through fours. A total of twenty five fours and three sixes marked the new world record which was previously held by the Pakistani batsman Saeed Anwar who had made a total of a hundred and ninety-four runs and Charles Coventry from the Zimbabwe team who scored the same amount while maintaining his batting position, meaning that he was still not out at the time he reached the score.
The other Indian players in the game who came during Tendulkar 200 were Dhoni and Karthik. Dhoni who is another favorite of the Indians also performed well scoring sixty-eight runs of just thirty-five balls, a strike rate of almost two hundred while Karthik made seventy-nine. The match which comes as the second one day international of the series will be seen as a trademark Indian victory and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Tendulkar got the Man of the Series award.
