Jasmine Guy has filed for bankruptcy after getting divorce from Terrence Mitchell Duckett. The couple had a daughter and Jasmine Guy has been awarded the custody of their daughter. According to the reports, Jasmine Guy who filed for divorce from her husband Terrence Mitchell Duckett in April has now filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy as the couple was indebted with huge sum of debts. With the divorce Jasmine received the furniture, paintings, jewelry, pots, her gadgets, the custody of her daughter, and a huge sum of debts. Jasmine owes $123,503 in debts with interests. Her husband, Duckett, also received his share of debts which consist of a sum of $94,345 and that too with interests.
Jasmine Guy, who got fame for her role in A Different World as an actress, filed for legal dissolution of marriage from her husband who she married to for 11 years. Guy filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Superior County Court in April. In the divorce paper, Guy claimed the custody of her items which were her ‘separate property’. Guy submitted a list of things which consisted of two pages. The items which Guy claimed her ‘separate property’ included furniture, art sculptures, paintings, jewelry, her ring, a Blackberry, pots, and full ownership in one production company and half in another.
The Los Angeles Court has given her divorce from Terrence Mitchell Duckett, the items she listed, and sole custody of her daughter Imani. But the court documents also revealed that the actress is filing for bankruptcy due to the tremendous amount of taxes she owes.
