Teva is a Pharmaceutical Company. it was founded in 1901.Its headquarter is located in Israel. It is a public limited company which supplies medical products throughout the world. It is ranked among the top twenty pharmaceutical companies in the world. It is known as the largest drug manufacturer in the world. Teva means Nature in the Hebrew language. Teva stepped into the United States in 1982.
It was granted permission by the United States food and drug association to setup a manufacturing plant in the united States. It created many famous medicines such as agilect and Copaxone which was a milestone in the medicine industry and is the top selling drug in the world. A new manufacturing plant was setup by the company at the technology park in Jerusalem. It was also approved by the United States Food and Drug Association. In 2008 Barr was acquired by the company for seven billion dollars. They produce medicines such as clonazepam, naproxen, venlafaxine, rasagiline etc. They have also established subsidiaries in North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Teva now plans to acquire a German pharmaceutical company. The company has bided more than its rivals the Pfizer. Teva will acquire the German Ratiopharm for around five billion dollars. The Teva pharmaceuticals have a history of acquiring the top pharmaceutical producers in the world. Their last acquisition was the Barr pharmaceuticals. The German company could benefit Teva with around sixteen billion dollars annually. The German pharmaceuticals produce around seven hundred and fifty medicine products.
