1958 horror movie, The Blob is about an alien creature that is on the earth to consume humans. As a meteor strikes on earth, Steve and Jane want to see it. An old man is at the place where meteor strikes. Old man is curious to see what is inside the rock. He strikes the rock with his stick. Much to his horror a jelly like thing emerges, walks up the stick and start to enter the old man’s body. Poor man is on run screaming. This is where Steve and Jane meet him and take him to a hospital. The blob not only consumes the old man but the doctor and the nurse also.
Steve and Jane report the event to the authorities, but they are in no mood to believe the duo. In order to save town’s people the duo start the emergency alarms. As a mob gathers the alien appears there also and people start running for their life. At some point in the film the creature follows Steve and John but they enter in a refrigerator and the blob could not eat them.
As Steve and Jane are dining in a restaurant, the creature chases them but they hide in the basement. Police tries to electrocute the creature but during their efforts the restaurant catches fire. As police sprays Carbon Dioxide, for the first time the creature is seen to be affected. Suddenly it dawns that the jelly like creature would rendered impotent if it is frozen. Enough Carbon Dioxide is fired and then creature is carried and dropped on some icy landscape.
