Tony Colangelo regards himself as the “golf cart man”. The golf cart man is offering free golf carts. The golf cart man is offering a cart for $8000 with a tax rebate of more than five thousand dollars and the remaining amount can be obtained by leasing it back to golf cart man who will give back the remaining amount at $100 per month. This means that the purchaser has done nothing and owned a golf cart.
The government is offering absolutely free golf carts as well but its offer is being perceived as the most hilarious one. The funny campaign by the government is not unprecedented and it has a history of such absurd moves. Previously the money from the stimulus bill was used to crush the automobiles which were quite alright and to construct an Airport which couldn’t be used by anybody. The “golf cart campaign” is the result of an IRS ruling in which it gives the golf carts as the status of electric car credit.
The tax credit is being perceived as the most insane and shocking that it would tantalize the congress for using public money on stupid projects. But the response of the media and public seems to be quite calm as the people are contacting the golf cart man in great number in response to the offer which proves that the public is not taking the utilization of money on such a scheme as offensive or unpleasant. Perhaps the public is responding positively to the offer due to the increasing sensitivity of the public for drastic environmental changes due to conventional vehicles.
