The Lookout is a movie which was released in the year 2007 which was directed and written by Scott Frank the same person responsible for writing the screenplay of Get Shorty and Out of Sight. The Lookout is an action film that revolves around a young ice hockey player who loses his short term memory in a car accident when pulling a foolish stunt of driving without the headlights. There were four people in the car on the night of the accident out of which only Chris Pratt the main character of the film and his girl friend Kelly survive.
The Lookout casts Joseph Gordon-Lewis as Chris the hero and Laura Vandervoort as his girlfriend Kelly. After the accident Chris is left pretty much incapable of performing any jobs as he cannot remember things. To help him out with this predicament he starts keeping a notebook or little note pad in which he writes down everything he has to do for the day. In this way he gets a job at a bank as a janitor or cleaner who has to clean the bank late at night after it closes down.
A gang of thugs have been viewing him and know of his predicament and then choose to make use of him in helping them rob the bank at which he works. The get Chris to play along with them the gang sets him up with a girl who seduces him; the girl is actually friends with the gang and is used to lure Chris into the bait. Anyway tired from his tedious life Chris decides to help the gang out in robbing the bank and is given the assignment of “The Lookout” which is where the movie gets its name from.
