The people under the stairs, is 1991 horror movie. The cast of the film includes, Everett McGill, Brandon Quintin Adams, Wendy Robie, Everett McGill, A.J. Langer and Ving Rhames. The boy Poindexter plays a central role in the movie whom everybody calls “Fool” but he is not proved to be a fool after all. Fool’s family had to evacuate their home on the orders of their land lords. The land lords are a brother and sister who are notorious for their incestuous relationship. Now Fool’s elder sister is involved with a criminal named Le Roy. Le Roy meets Fool and tells him that his financial difficulties can be resolved if he agrees to partner with him in his plan to rob Robeson’s (incestuous couple) mansion. Fool agrees. Le Roy takes another guy named Spencer with them on the mission.
Fool tries to enter the house by posing as Boy Scout but fails. Second in the line is Spencer. Spencer enters the house but does not return even after long time has passed. Fool and Le Roy decide to break into the house. As they go inside a bizarre scene is waiting them. House seems to smells of something odd and criminality. The people under the stair are zombie children who have got their eyes extracted, their ear and tongues burnt by Robesons’. Spencer has also been murdered. As the incestuous couple gets the sight of Le Roy, he is also murdered. The brother and sister then jump around his corpse.
Fool escapes with the help of Alice, who is Robesons’ child. He sends the police to the house but Robeson’s’ deceive police offers. In the end Fool destroys Robesons mansion and all the zombie’s are freed.
