“This Book is dedicated to the Rational Soul of the World” the title of 1928 book, the secret teaching of all times, says. The book was written by Richard P. Hall and he self-published the work. Halls’ effort throughout the book is to explore the secret thread joining all the religions in the world. The book is phenomenal as it familiarizes the reader with the subjects like Alchemy, Neo Platonism, and Sufism etc.
Entering any book store I have often wondered at the number of books displayed about finding the meaning in all the daily chaos we experience. Call it religion, or quest to find one’s true self or God or any other name you like, all point to one same destination. The newly generated interest in the meaning of life indicates the superficiality of all the happenings around us. To make myself clear consider the case of a young woman who suddenly finds herself afflicted with a fatal form of cancer. After all crying, lamenting and sleepless nights come the moment of truth, she has wanted the aimless drama to stop all her life. Life had become meaningless routine of earning, eating and sleeping. The present disease was nothing but a liberator. The secret teaching of all ages is about finding a way to end this meaninglessness.
