Theodore Rex or T Rex for short is a 1995 science fiction /family adventure film featuring Whoopi Goldberg. It remains most expensive film ever to have been sent to video directly. The film also hit the news for Whoopi Goldberg trying to quit the sets. The matter was promptly taken to the court and was settled by the actress getting $2 Million more than the agreed amount.
The movie was a total failure and received very bad media and general public feedback with some critics wondering at how such a lousy plot was given a go ahead. The problems aggravated as Whoopi seemed to have acted half heartedly.
The film starts with dinosaurs roaming freely in some future time. It is revealed that the dinosaurs have been brought back from extinction by cloning the species and they have now become so advanced that not only have they settled in societies they have their own religion and exhibit such emotions as love and hate. Whoopi Goldberg “Coltraine” played the role of a detective as a Dino is murdered in the New Eden city, detective Coltraine join hands with another dino “Theodore Rex” to find the culprit.
As the plot progresses T-Rex is attacked by Spinner, alarming the duo that something has gone terribly wrong. Their investigation unearths a plan to destroy the human species. They work out the culprit who is supplying weapons to Edge, who happens to be Kane’s main supporter. Having known the plan, the only thing remained to be done is busting it, which of course Coltraine and Theodore achieve.
The movie ends with Theodore being accept in police corps in a ceremony, attended by Coltraine.
