Something happened to the time today in the morning when you were fast asleep or out with your friends celebrating a Saturday night, the time was changed. The news of the time change was given to the public through government web pages as early as a month ago when it said that on the fourteenth of March this year the official time will be changed to the Daylight Saving time. The time change March 2010 became effective from two o’ clock in the a.m. and it will remain this way till the seventh of November this year. The time change was standardized in 1966 and now the whole country follows a regulated time shift to the EDT.
The time change March 2010 which is called the EDT rather than the previous EST is called the Eastern Daylight Time as compared to the Eastern Standard which was what it was known as before today. So if you’re sitting there wondering what to do with your watch or clock then simply move it one hour ahead from what it originally was. The time in all towns, cities and states has been moved one hour ahead regardless of where in America you might be sitting.
The time change March 2010 will effect office hours, shopping hours and television hours alike throughout the country and though it might feel a bit strange at first to get used to the new times, in a matter of a week or so it will seem like the time has always been this way. The EDT is brought into play to save on energy costs by reducing the import of natural resources which are used to run the power projects that supply the nation with electricity.
