The daylight saving time has been enforced throughout the country and the clocks have been moved ahead by and hour so if there’s anyone still confused about it the time is one hour ahead of what it was yesterday. So if the time New York right now is ten forty then it will be eleven forty according to the new timings which will be called Eastern Daylight Timings or EDT. For those of you in other states or cities the same applies and whatever the time was before it is just one hour ahead.
It would be recommended that those of you who haven’t adjusted your clocks as yet to move the time exactly one hour ahead. Time New York, like in any other city was changed as of two o’ clock in the morning today and the new timings will be applicable till the seventh day of November. Time New York has been changed to make more use of the daylight hours as the sunset will be taking place one hour later every day. So it the sun was setting at six o’ clock previously, it will be setting at seven o’ clock according to the new timings.
The act of Daylight Savings was standardized around the country in the annum of 1966 when the congress passed a bill which would make the changing uniform. The prospects of savings through these new timings come in terms of getting more done in daylight hours to save on energy consumption as the lights will be switching on at a later time of the day.
