When it comes to a potentially serious situation the U.S is still on its toes Times Square bomb scare just showed. The Times Square was evacuated earlier today after an abandoned Dodge van “Make 1992″ was located on Broadway, between 41st and 42nd street by a police officer.
The Times Square bomb scare created quite a debacle after a petrol officer noted a specious white abandoned vehicle on Broadway.
Despite this Times Square bomb scare the New Year celebrations will go on as usual but under a tighter security. It has been advised by the authorities that New Year’s merrymakers must not bring alcohol and any large bags or backpacks along.
Yesterday on Wednesday police officers were all over that suspicious van parked on Time Square approximately at 11:15 A.M.
Police told the press that they have not found an explosive device whatsoever inside the suspicious van.
The 1992 Dodge van had tinted windows, with no license plates and the placard displayed on the dashboard was from a fake government agency. N.Y Police immediately blocked the 42nd street, 7th Avenue and evacuated almost every nearby building and blocked traffic in the area.
Bomb squared was called on the scene and after inspecting the van thoroughly they found out that van was just carrying clothing and table.
The suspicious white Dodge van forced the local transportation authorities to change subway service lines too.
The Times Square was reopened after the thorough examination of the van and the area in the early afternoon however, the van owner has not been identified as yet.
