A suspicious Time Square Van created a panic among people and authorities this Wednesday. An unattended white Dodge van near Times Square forced the N.Y.P.D to evacuate 42nd Street and 7th Avenue buildings and block traffic. The area was evacuated immediately to check the things inside the Times Square van.
Hundreds of N.Y.P.D cops and security officials swarmed the New York Times Square area after a false alarm drove the N.Y.P.D to shutdown the area completely over an abandoned Times Square Van that was simply parked illegally in the wrong place at the wrong time.
N.Y.P.D officers inspected the people around and the tourists for any explosive devices after evacuating a number of buildings in the area including Nasdaq stock market. Police Officers said that extra security is the necessity of N.Y because it is the number one terrorist target in U.S.
After inspecting thoroughly Police have found no explosive devices, but the suspicious van was just carrying bunch of clothing and a table.
The patrol officers noticed the suspicious van in Times Square around mid morning, he got suspicious after seeing that the van had tinted windows with no number plates, while the placard displayed on the dashboard inside the van was of a bogus government agency.
The Times Square Van forced local Transportation department to change the subway service lines.
New York Times Square which is the venue for the New Year grand celebrations was reopened in the afternoon, although the suspicious van owner has still not been identified.
