Todd Helton, the only prominent name in the team of Rockies to take off in the upcoming postseason of baseball. Todd Helton had quite a successful career and he became a respectable figure in the baseball field. He has been with the Colorado Rockies for more than a decade. He started his career as a first baseman and showed his skills and proved himself as one of the best first baseman, his statistics also showed his classic career.
He signed his first contract with the Rockies for just $190,000, and now he had his price as high as $16,600,000. He remained the star figure for the Rockies as last year runners up for Most Valuable Player, Matt Holliday left the team. He becomes more prominent and important after the departure of Holliday.
Well, as compare to other teams, the Rockies are clearly missing the big names and if you look around the team, the only icon is Helton.
General Manager of Rockies Mr. Dan expressed his logical and optimistic view about his organization. He stated that the success can’t be achieved single handedly, if one wants to construct something, that must be constructed in a way to become a team effort. It is rather very unfair if individual gets more importance than the others.
He admitted that they had faced lot of criticism on trading Matt. He said when Matt left the team, we wished him all the luck in future as it never matters that one gets such importance to disturb the others. He further said they are not the team of 25, they are the team of 40 as all the organization is behind and they always encouraged the young player to come up, get the confidence and perform for their team. There is no way to treat anyone superior than the others.
Well, Best of Luck Rockies, the time will tell the exact story that how much the young boys can perform and how will the Todd take it up. In fact the team has to rely on Todd otherwise the remaining boys has to play under immense pressure.
