Tom Brokaw’s car has met an unfortunate accident in New York that involved two other vehicles also. Tom Brokaw was accompanied by his wife. A statement from the couple has come out stating that both Tom Brokaw and his wife are safe and sound.
However the accident has resulted in the death of a 28 year old woman who was driving a dark green colored SUV. CNN footage showed an overturned SUV still lying on the highway. Tom and Meredith Brokaw were travelling Bruckner Expressway in the far left lane. Tom noticed a roll of wire falling on the opposite side. Just as he noticed the wire falling a SUV tried to overtake Brokaws car but in order to avoid the roll of wire the driver had to change the direction suddenly. The sudden change of direction resulted in driver losing the control of the vehicle and it overturned. Just then a mail truck was coming behind and is it tried to avoid the overturned SUV, it suddenly changed its lane and came in the far left lane.
As Tom Brokaw tried to avoid the truck his car had a head on collision with the SUV.
Tom Brokaw has said that the accident is indeed very unfortunate one. The woman who got killed has been reported to be working in the area near to the point where accident happened. Police is of the view that the dead body of the woman who got killed in the accident has been sent for post mortem.
