For those of you living in Topeka Kansas it won’t really come as such a big surprise that it has come as for the rest of the country. You residents of Topeka Kansas knew of this all along that the city had changed it’s name to Google for the month of March and you also may have known the reasons behind it but for those of you who don’t know I will now explain to you the whole idea behind this very large gesture and an April fools trick played by Google on the entire population of America.
In February, just a little more than a month ago, Google made a public statement disclosing its intentions to set up an entirely new method of internet. The method which it was talking about can be searched on as a different topic but I will give you the brief understanding of what Google is trying to accomplish in the towns, cities and states of America. Have you ever heard of fiber optics and wondered what good the technology is when it isn’t being utilized to even one trillionth of its potential? Well that is exactly what Google is trying to cash in on as it is right now trying to attempt a network connection that is based on fiber optics. If successful such a connection can bolster internet speeds up to an astonishing one GB/second which will really change the entire way that people look at the internet, I.e. a whole movie downloaded in under a minute!
The people of Topeka Kansas got their payback when Google changed its name to the same as the name of the city and now I think everyone in Topeka is happy that America will be seeing their cities name for a day whether they like it or not.
