While Obama is deciding whether more troops should be sent to Afghanistan or not, the Senate report detailing the Afghan war has been released. The Senate report says that the US troops cornered Osama bin Laden in Tora Bora mountain ranges but let him escaped as the top officials of US military decided not to attack him. The report says that it is one decision which has cost too much to the US troops in Afghanistan as it provided a way to move into Pakistan and has inflamed terrorists’ attacks inside Pakistan. The Senate report says that the US military’s decision not to kill Osama in 2001 during the Tora Bora battle has result into disastrous consequences. The report also reveals that US troops did not block the Tora Bora Mountains which leads to a path towards Pakistani territory as the top brass of US military turned down that idea and now the consequences are obvious to everyone. The report regrettably says that the failure to kill or capture Osama bin Laden in 2001 has led us to a situation where a very vital region is facing instability. The report has been released by the senate Foreign Relations Committee. The report has been published at a time when Obama is deciding whether more troops should be sent to Afghanistan or not. The report will have an important impact on his decision.
