Headline: After the September 2009 recalls, Toyota announces repair of its cars once again.
Toyota Motors Co. recalls its cars in the United States for a repair once again. The first call was made in September 2009. The company announced that the accelerator pedals of more than 4 million vehicles which have been recalled form all over the United States will be replaced with newer ones. This replacement is necessary as the pedals may get jammed due to the floor mats. The first recall was made in late September. According to Toyota Motors, the pedals will be replaced temporarily with new pedals of shortened length and a brake override system. The new pedals will be arriving in April. Toyota mad a massive recall in September 2009 in which it warned the owners and drivers about the possible danger. The can manufacturers also asked the drivers to remove the floor mat of the car from the driver’s side or the pedal may get stuck. The September 2009 recall includes Camry of model 2007- 2010, the Prius of model 2004-2009, Toyota Tundra of model 2007 to 2010, and Toyota Tacoma. The total number of vehicles which have been recalled exceeds 3.8 million.
A recent recall and warning has also been made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA. The federal officials asked the Toyota Tundra owners in more than 20 states to get their vehicles repaired as the road salt may cause damage to their structure.
These intensive recalls have been made after the frightening accident of a Toyota Lexus model ES350) in California earlier this year. The accident focused public attraction on the issue.
