Thomas Beatie formerly known as “Tracy Lagondino”, who changed his gender through reassignment surgery gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday morning 9th June, 2009. Thomas Beatie, a 35-year-old, was born a girl “Tracy Lagondino” but had sex reassignment surgery and is now legitimately male, even though he changed his gender but he kept his vagina and other female organs so he could fall pregnant one day.
It is believed that Thomas Beatie is world’s first “pregnant man” and he gave birth to his second baby in America, the baby-boy is yet to be named, Beatie already have a one-year-old daughter named Susan Juliette. She was born in Oregon in June last year. During his first pregnancy, Beatie released a picture of himself, which shows his pregnant belly and his bearded face. His legal wife Nancy, 46 will breast-feed their son as she did with their daughter too. He was threatened through messages many times by the people who disagree with what he is doing.
He said in his interview with ABC News that people are shocked because no one has ever heard of a man giving birth to a baby before, moreover he said that it is a shocking notion, but in this day and age that is possible.
Thomas Beaties and Nancy are a normal heterosexual family; he conceived pregnancy with donor sperm because Nancy had a hysterectomy and was unable to conceive.
