Truffle butter is made with mixing finely cut truffle pieces with fresh butter- preparing details to follow. Truffles are a type of mushrooms usually found growing near the stems of plants. Truffles should be picked carefully (if you are not buying them from market or stores) as some of the species are known to be poisonous. Truffles are usually thought to be a delicacy of French cuisine; however they are commonly used in most of the European countries. Truffles are well known for their strong aroma and this is for the same reason that animals are used to located truffles in the ground as they sense the location where truffles are growing in the ground. There is another strong reason that male animals are attracted to the specie – keep guessing till we make the truffle butter.
Truffles are quite expensive in the open market, so the processing requires skill and care.
First truffles are cleaned thoroughly to remove any dirt or soil on the skin. Arrange the freshest possible butter and let it become soft by placing outside the refrigerator. Cut truffles in fine pieces and take care to not to let the water waste away. Mix truffles and truffle water with the butter and place the butter in the refrigerator. Truffle butter is ready to go with lots of dishes.
The butter can be used to make savory omelets or add it while cooking meat or use it for garnishing. Truffle butter can also be used in sauces.
So why are truffles sought by male animals? Because they have strong aphrodisiac properties!
