Van Morrison becomes a father again!
Surprise, surprise! Van Morrison has proved that he is still ‘the man’ as he welcomes his third child at the age of 64! Gigi Lee, Van Morrison’s partner and manager, gave birth to their baby son George Ivan Morrison III on Monday night, according to a statement revealed by the singer on his website. The place of the birth was not disclosed. It was also stated that the child is a ‘spitting image’ of his father Van Morrison. The child has a dual nationality of United States and United Kingdom. Van Morrison’s publicist stated that the time and place of birth are being kept undisclosed and private.
Van Morrison has a 39 year old daughter Shana Morrison from his first wife Janet Minto. Shana Morrison is a singer as well as songwriter.
Born in 1945 in Belfast, Van Morrison started his career during his teen years. He started his music careers by playing different instruments. His early performances date back to late 1950s when he performed with different showbands who covered the hits songs of that time.
The 64-year-old sing-songwriter, Van Morrison is also known as ‘Van the Man’ to his fans and is a critically acclaimed artist. He rose to fame during 1960s when he performed with Irish band ‘Them’ as a lead singer.
Van Morrison’s album ‘Blowin’ Your Mind’ in 1967 was his first solo album. It initially received poor response but gradually brought fame to him. His second album Moondance was a major success and established Van Morrison as major music artist.
Van Morrison was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 but he refused to attend the ceremony.
Van has received six Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, and several civil awards. He has also been awarded with honorary doctoral degrees from University of Ulster and Queen’s University Belfast and various other honors.
