The most prestigious award in the world Nobel Prize has extended its list as three more intellectuals of the world have registered their names to secure the Nobel Prize and Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is one of those three. Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is an Indian-America, who made the people of both countries proud by winning the Nobel Prize.
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, was nominated as Nobel Prize holder in the field of chemistry, with Thomas A. Steitz and Ada Yonath.
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, was an Indian born American, who moved to US long ago. The 57 year old Venkatraman Ramakrishnan was born in Tamil Nado and earned his degree of Physics form Baroda University, Gujarat in 1971 and left for United States later on permanently. He joined Ohio University and attained his PhD degree in Physics from the University.
He also worked at the University of California 1970 as a graduate student.
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, is currently working as a senior scientist with MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. He also studied a lot and worked on the small ribosomal subunit of E Coli of neutron scattering map.
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan worked in Brookhaven National Laboratory, studied and worked on several ribosomal proteins and their three dimensional structures. The other partner in this particular study was Stephen White.
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan has not only won the Nobel Prize recently, he had a great career and CV behind, and he has the privilege to be the member of the Royal Society. He also got the fellowship of National Academy of Sciences in United States and EMBO.
