The Funeral ceremony of former Boxing Champion Vernon Forrest held on 3rd of August, Monday at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Dekalb County; in which he was remembered as a different sort of boxer. Approximately 1,000 people attended his Funeral ceremony including former Boxing Champions Robert Allen, Antonio Tarver, Buddy McGirt and Evander Holyfield. Former Atlanta Falcons Ray Buchanan and Jamal Anderson also attended the funeral. Evander Holyfield (Former Heavyweight Champion) was one of 100, who attended the funeral on Monday afternoon in suburban Atlanta.
Vernon Forrest was 38 year-old, who shot and killed on 25th of July after being robbed near Atlanta Petrol Station. According to the police, they believe to issue the arrest warrants soon for guilty person. Police issued this statement because they assisted by guidelines from “America’s Most Wanted” and surveillance video recording. Vernon Forrest’s funeral ceremony celebrated with a video tribute which showed the memorable moments of his life and his luminous smile. His relatives and friends described him as modest for boxing world. All his family members came in the sanctuary wearing Vernon’s Championship belts.
“I believe in God, I believe in justice and we want justice served to the fullest,” said Alphonso Forrest, his brother. “He didn’t deserve it, I don’t deserve it, none of us do. It hurts so bad.
“Whatever it takes to get justice for you Vernon, legally, we’re going to get it done. I promise you.”
