Viktor Bout was just serving as a translator in military yet call it a fate or destiny or anything, he became on the most successful illegal arms dealer in history. If you have watched “Lord of War,” Nicolas Cage’s character was inspired by Viktor Bout. Viktor’s network became a highly sophisticated system, which installed its tentacles wherever the war broke out. Be it Sierra Leon, or Afghanistan or Liberia, he did not miss any opportunity to supply illegal arms and yet he always – ran away unscathed. To spread his network of arms supply he came up with many freight companies and started operating through them. As the warring factions became more blood thirsty Viktor Bout became more successful to the point where he owned his own fleet of air crafts.
Viktor always maintained that he has nothing to do with the arms and he is just the owner of an air freight company responsible of logistics, yet he gained the name of “Sanctions Buster”. Viktor Bout and his activities were thoroughly researched by Douglas Farah, whose extensive shuffling of the pages of history made her realize that Viktor’s activities are so well planned and covered hat it is almost impossible to label them as illegal!
Viktor is in a Thai jail now-a-days, however his lawyers are confident that he would soon be out.
On 13th of December Thai authorities detained a craft at Bangkok Air Port. Thai intelligence agencies along with the collaboration of intelligence agencies of some other countries were having an eye on the route and activities of a cargo plane. As the air craft was searched it was full of ammunition such as hand grenades, Klashnikov Rifles etc.
The air craft seems to be belonging to Viktor Bout’s network.
