Indian Super Star Vishnuvardhan has died.
Vishnuvardhan, a Southern India super star, has died of heart attack on early Wednesday. He was 60. Vishnuvardhan complained of chest pain on Wednesday around 2.30 am in the morning. He was taken to hospital from Metro Polo Hotel but he passed away. According to the doctors, he died around 3:00 am.
It is being reported that Vishnuvardhan took the treatment on the evening of Tuesday and returned to the hotel where he was staying. He complained of severe chest pain early in the morning on Wednesday. Vishnuvardhan was staying in Mysore for the treatment of his leg pain. Vishnuvardhan is survived by his wife Bharathi Vishnuvardhan who is also an actress. The survivors of Vishnuvardhan also include his adopted daughters, Keerthi and Chandana.
His body was taken to Banglore around 8 am in the morning. His body will be kept in the Cosmopolitan Club grounds for the fans to have a last look on the deceased actor. Vishnuvardhan’s fans are shell-shocked by his death and mourners tried to close the shops and businesses in Banglore. Police used tear gas to disperse the frenzied fans who attacked buses and private cars.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka state, BS Yeddyurappa, was one of the first visitors who reached at his home to pay his tributes to the deceased actor. The CM announced a state funeral for the actor. State government has declared a holiday and schools and cinemas are closed.
Vishnuvardhan was born in September 1950. His original name was Sampath Kumar which he changed to Vishnuvardhan after starting his film career. Vishnuvardhan has appeared 200 movies. He was a talented singer and was popular among his fans for his versatility. Vishnuvardhan is the biggest star of Kannada and has been awarded with several honors including an honorary doctoral award from Bangalore University. Vishnuvardhan has won several state awards as well.
