CENTRAL MOSCOW— Vyacheslav Ivankov has been shot by some unknown attacker and is now in serious condition, who is one of the most powerful godfathers in Russian mafia. He was being shot while leaving a “Thai Restaurant” on Tuesday 28, as described by the officials. Russian news agencies stated that in fact he was shot after reconciling matters between 2 opponent criminal gangs. His condition was serious but still stable said by the Russian media.

A police officer who was on the duty at the time of incident said, Vyacheslav Ivankov was immediately admitted to the Hospital with a stomach wound. His condition was not good and he was shot as soon as he came out from the Thai Restaurant situated in northern Moscow region, added by the officer.
“Vyacheslav Ivankov is well known in the criminal world by the alias Yaponchik, was shot from about 70 metres with a Degtyaryev sniper rifle,” the investigation unit said.
The main investigation unit of Prosecutor-General said that Russian Law Enforcement Agencies are searching for the guilty person. Vyacheslav Ivankov is a well known “Senior Russian Gangster” in US. In Russia he is known by the name of “Yaponchik” a Japanese name, he spent much of his time in US jail during 1990s. In 2004, Vyacheslay Ivankov was transferred to Russia to face murder charges but was released by a home court. Vyacheslav Ivankov was born in 1940 in Russia. He served prison period in the “Soviet Union” prior to flying to the US in early nineties.
